Travel to and in Lille

Lille is easily accessible from various destinations in France and Europe thanks to its excellent transportation network. Here are some options for getting to Lille:

By train

Lille is a major railway hub and is served by numerous national and international lines.

Lille has 2 train stations close together (500 meters) :

  • Lille-Flandres station and the Lille-Europe station. Located right in the city center, they are directly served by metro, streetcar and bus.
  • Lille-Europe station is notably connected to Paris, Brussels, London, and other major European cities.

OUIGO offers cheap trains from several major French cities to Lille-Flandres, Lille-Europe and Tourcoing station, located 30 minutes from Lille by public transport.

By plane

By its central position, Lille is easily reachable from multiple airports :

  • From Lille-Lesquin airport : Located 10km from the city center, you can take the Flibco shuttle bus, which will bring you to the bus station on boulevard de Turin in 20 minutes.
  • From Brussels : you can take the train to Lille but Flibco also provides shuttle services from Brussels Charleroi airport (1h45) and Brussels Zaventem airport (1h30).
  • From Paris : From Charles de Gaulle (CDG) take a TGV to Lille and from Orly (ORY) take a taxi, bus or metro to the train station Paris Gare du Nord and then a TGV. Approximately 1h by train.
  • From Amsterdam Schiphol airport : Schiphol is one of Europe’s best-connected international hubs. You can reach Lille by taking an >Eurostar train from Amsterdam to Brussels and a connecting train to Lille. The total journey takes approximately 3h30.

By car

Lille is connected to major cities in the Hauts-de-France region and Europe via an extensive motorway network. You can reach Lille using the A1, A22, A23, A25 and A28 highways (note: some sections may include tolls).

Driving times : 2h from Paris – 1h from Brussels.

In the Nord region, highways are generally free of charge.
The Crit’Air sticker is required in Lille only during pollution peaks; during these periods, vehicles with Crit’Air 5 and 4 stickers are not allowed to circulate.

Parking recommendation :

We strongly recommend parking on the University of Lille campus, where several free parking areas are available close to metro stations. From there, you can easily take the metro to Lille city centre or to other event locations, helping you avoid traffic and parking difficulties in the city.

Please also check whether your hotel provides on-site parking.
